I received my first Ph.D. in Romance Literatures from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich with an interdisciplinary thesis on Italy's leading art critic and historian Roberto Longhi ("Ekphrasis and Formalism in Roberto Longhi": publication expected in 2024). 

In 2021 I have been visiting scholar and guest lecturer at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN), where I gave lectures on the literary and filmic production of Pier Paolo Pasolini—who was one of Roberto Longhi’s students—as well as the pictorial references in his films and the relationship between the verbal and visual arts (“ekphrasis”).

I co-authored the volume “Arte e Letteratura nel nome di Roberto Longhi. Bassani, Pasolini, Testori” (with Sgarbi V. and Gnocchi A., 2023, Fondazione Ferrara Arte, Ferrara), which includes my essay "Tra immagini e parole. Pier Paolo Pasolini, Giorgio Bassani e Giovanni Testori allievi di Roberto Longhi". The volume was used as a catalogue for an exhibition with the same title which I curated in Ferrara (Biblioteca Ariostea, April - June 2023).
