it's a billion degrees outside and humid as all getout.  which means cards like sticking to my hands with annoying frequency.  any suggestions on ways around this that won't dry out my hands more than they really need to?

I feel your pain. My problem is usually that the deck seems to warp and do that annoying "popping" thing, where it is either bent concave or convex, but never in between (it makes doubles look TERRIBLE). Someone on the Cafe suggested putting the deck in the freezer before leaving the house, but it seems this would work for about 15 seconds before the heat got to it again. Sorry I don't have any remedies for you...but I'm interested to hear what others come up with. At the very least, Adele, you're not alone in your heat-induced magical dilemmas.

You could try using a clear buffing wax on the cards by applying a very thin layer with a q-tip on each card.

Failing that, have a bowl of water and a towel, wash your hands in the bowl and dry them in between each handling of the deck, and keep your audience forever guessing what the #$@! the bowl is for.

Hey Notsua, I've got a solution.

Just a suggestion. Wink

Before I play guitar for shows, I wash my hands for 20 seconds in the coldest water possible. It will keep your hands from producing oil and should reduce the sweat from your hands significantly for about 20 minutes. I started this because I have really sweaty hands playing guitar and it keeps my strings from oxidizing so quickly. Try that out and see if it works for you.

Or just borrow my hands. They're used to playing guitar, and they're chronically dry.

It's even more annoying when you're playing drums, as the sticks tend to fly out of sweaty palms. I'm sure Andrew can vouch for this, though he probably has some fancy-pants drummer-gloves.

Will all dinosaurs be active at once so they will roam the island, like DW originally planned? Are you guys working on this or is this still not possible?

The problem is trying to co-mingle the dinos from different periods. The carnivores from the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods are constantly depriving each other of food sources and exhausting the ecosystem.

We're working on breeding vegan velociraptors.
