Dominic Brookshaw, “Narratives of Loss and Return, Literary Marginality and How I Read Hafiz”
The Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages welcomed one of its newest faculty members, Dominic Brookshaw, Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature, to speak as a part of the How I Think About Literature lecture series. In the talk, entitled “Narratives of Loss and Return, Literary Marginality, and How I Read Hafiz,” Brookshaw approached the reading of literature from a very personal angle, discussing the complex identity politics that have shaped his relationship to Iran, and the pathway of return found in Persian literature.
