Literatures of Planetary Thresholds

Building on the yearly theme "narratives of the sociotechnical", materia's next event will focus on literary analysis in the context of changing planetary and ecological conditions. By examining works by Christian B枚k, Vivian Abenshushan and Reza Negarestani,听Christian Gald贸n听(Universit茅 Paris 1 - Panth茅on-Sorbonne) will point out the challenges that literature faces when integrating and materializing the ontological turn practiced by other human sciences such as Anthropology. By engaging with near-future storytelling by Tap Pryor (1979),听David Stentiford听(素人色情片) will present on ocean farming projects in the United States, to discuss how offshore mariculture circulated as an imaginary after World War II.听Mads Rosendahl Thomsen听(Aarhus University) will respond.
