Ignacio 尝贸辫别锄-Calvo听is Presidential Chair in the Humanities, Director of the Center for the Humanities, and Professor of Literature at the University of California, Merced. He is the author of more than one hundred articles and book chapters, as well as nine single-authored books and twenty-three essay collections. He is the co-executive director of the academic journal听Transmodernity: Journal of Peripheral Cultural Production of the Luso-Hispanic World, the Palgrave-Macmillan Book Series 鈥淗istorical and Cultural Interconnections between Latin听America听and Asia,鈥 and the Anthem Press book series 鈥淎nthem Studies in Latin听American Literature and Culture Series.鈥 His latest books are听The Mexican听Transpacific: Nikkei Writing, Visual Arts, Performance听(2022);听Saudades of Japan and Brazil: Contested Modernities in Lusophone Nikkei Cultural Production听(2019);听Dragons in the Land of the Condor: Tus谩n Literature and Knowledge in Peru听(2014), and听The Affinity of the Eye: Writing Nikkei in Peru听(2013).
